Botulinum Toxin is a minimally invasive, safe and effective treatment for frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines. No long-term side effects have been attributed to the use of Botulinum Toxin. Short-term side effects are minimal. Temporary bruising at the area of injection can occur, but will subside. Headaches may occur, but they can be relieved with painkillers.

What Happens During the Botulinum Toxin Treatment Procedure?

After we determined that you are a good candidate for treatment, Dr Naidoo will strategically inject toxin into the hyperactive muscles. A fine needle is used so most patients don’t even need anaesthetic. The number of injections that you receive will depend on the extent and size of the affected area. A typical session lasts no more than 20 minutes.

Botulinum Toxin aftercare

Unlike plastic surgery, there’s no downtime, and you can go back to work or return home soon after the session. It is best to avoid strenuous activity, excessive heat and exercise for several days following the treatment. You should also avoid rubbing the treatment areas because that can cause the Botox to migrate to places where it is not needed.
